Swans a swimming

Didn't manage to get out for a lunchtime walk. Still feeling a bit lethargic and sniffly.

Heard on the news that the Thames had burst its banks on the stretch that runs very close to us. Had our left-over dahl for tea and then popped down in the car to take a look. I've not seem the river that high before - the whole of the meadow is underwater right up to the road edge. The swans were enjoying their expanded territory and making some odd noises. I used a monopod to try and get some blur-free shots but it was still difficult to keep steady enough. This stretch, looking towards Reading, should contain the path that we usually walk into town on. No sign of it tonight. Not sure that the Park run will be able to go ahead this weekend - may be more of a park swim....
