Taxi Strike

Email from Zandile to staff this morning:

"CAUTION!

"If there is anyone or a group of people planning to go to Philippi to today, i would advise not to do so.It is so very bad out there and in this case i will talk more of Landsdowne road as i was driving there this morning, its terrible, people were jumping out of the buses as taxi owners and drivers were rudely offloading them and in the process breaking windows,

"Also remember, the Avanza cars are taxis in Philippi and should you be seen driving with more than 1 people i promise you there will be trouble in paradise.So, lets rather be safe good people."

And from Zips:
"Jo! you won't believe what happened today, I climbed a bus around six, in the morning, thinking that would make a difference, but it only made this worse I got here at school at 10 o'clock, and my classes started at 8:30, so i missed out two classes already, but they understood, but i feel real bad, i don't want to get used to such things like missing classes.

"I've got to go to these extra classes, i will start at 3:00 to 4:30, but i will manage, I only pray that i will get home safe, you know the bus that i took today got shot by the taxi drivers at Athlone, but no one got hurt, and we had to wait for another bus to fetch us, so thus it delayed, And i still need to take it on my way home, i don't know how that will turn out, I'm really scared."
