Preparing for Winter

The winter visitors seem to have arrived with a vengeance over the last few days - probably assisted by those bitterly North winds we've been experiencing. I was delighted to see both this Redwing and a Fieldfare land, albeit briefly in our neighbour's damson tree. We don't have any mature trees in our garden but we've worked hard to make sure there are lots of berries and hope to lure these birds down to feed.
I also spotted a Small White butterfly on one one of the still flowering perennial wallflower.
