Having an over abundance of cloves (bought them for a second time forgetting I had already bought them!) I decided to get into the spirit of the season and spent an enjoyable hour sticking them into some clementines being artistic with some clementines.

Never having done this before and with no point of reference I decided a good option was to put them in the airing cupboard calculating that the lack of light would stop them ripening and the heat would dry them out.

Two have dried out and are hardening nicely but the rest have gone all mushy and 'wet'.

Can anyone out there help? Can I save them? What should I have done?
