Room key

Since yesterday afternoon I have been cooped up in a hotel just off the M6 in Cheshire. Apart from Thursday, I'll be here all week. I'm at the work event that got a mention in Private Eye - as blipped on 8th October.

Strangely the hotel seems to lack anything of real interest to blip. The room key technology, however, is quite intriguing. It's very old fashioned. The computer security experts who are here with me say that this kind of key is much more secure than modern credit card type keys.
