view over weymouth bay

...another night of torrential rain saw the worst flooding I have ever seen in the Swanage area and was keeping the emergency services very busy this morning. That said, we got away lightly when compared to other parts of the south west. The downpours finally stopped mid-morning and we were blessed with plenty of sunshine this afternoon. The outlook for the rest of the week is considerably better and should give some much needed time for the floodwaters to seep or flow away.

We spent most of today in Weymouth, where I took this view over Weymouth Bay to Ringstead, Bat's Hole, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and all along the coast as far as St. Aldhelm's Head in the distant right.

As soon as we get the right weather conditions, we will capture and blip images of all the fabulous geological, geographic and just plain beautiful features that this stretch of coast has to offer...
