Zoiks!

My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,

They have made a bit of an effort in the cable car station. There are crappy cobwebs and cardboard skeletons everywhere. It's like Tim Burton, but budget.

But you have to admit, the Ghost of the Cable Car Station is a bit oo-err. I think it's because they have put a bit of imagination into their bogging up.

I am getting into the mood tonight by watching "Premature Burial" with Ray Milland. It is a Roger Corman film.

If you didn't know, he was the king of the cheap drive-in film from the 50's through to the 80's. An intensely intelligent man, with a cheery demeanour, he wrote a book entitled, How I Made A Hundred Movies In Hollywood and Never Lost A Dime.

He is also known as a bit of a talent-spotter. Spielberg, Scorsese, Coppola and Ron Howard all worked for him in their early days. He also discovered Jack Nicholson. His Edgar Allan Poe adaptations all look fabulous even though they were all shot for about three pounds fifty.

And in fact, right now, Ray Milland is in a fog-shrouded wood. I guess to hide the fact that all of the trees in said wood are cardboard. I'm pretty sure Roger would approve of the bogged-up Ghost of the Cable-Car.

As for us, Jasper and I do not care about low-budgets. It is nearly Halloween and it is all about the spooky atmosphere.
