Opening Minds

This is a close-up detail of something called the Opening Minds Pod. It is a small part of a new high school in Blackburn, that opened its doors for the first time this September. Not like the schools of my day, that's for sure, this one was so full of stimulating spaces, streaming daylight, panoramic views-out and impeccably behaved kids (well, whilst I was there anyway!).

A bit of a mouthful, this is Blackburn Central High School with Crosshill, created out of the hybrid of several deconstructed and remodelled schools.

This shot was taken with me on a tour with the Deputy Head. It is a precursor to hopefully delivering some new artist residencies that will look to work alongside students, staff and the community.
