Looking About
Standing down town for six hours each day over the last three days gave me the opportunity to look up as well as about.
Today’s Blip is a collage with the uppermost photo being what looks like a broken weather vane outside the Poly, you can see what looks like an arrow head with the other end missing, I’m not sure how effective it would have been that close to the wall. The building looks good for a 185 years old though.
Bottom left the sign says “The Old Post Office”, I’ve never noticed it before. As it’s currently a surf shop, I assume that as the Old Post Office it would have been sited here, close to the church as that was probably the original town centre.
Lastly ‘Admirslty House’ in Arwenack Street, this doorway is in the centre of the facade of what was originally Falmouths Military Hospital. Built around 1912 it was only in use for a few years before closing.
Another day in the fresh air, meeting people and achieving something.
