Cruachan - the hollow mountain
What a beautiful day - sunshine from morning 'til night! I decided to go to the tunnels in Glen Lonan, collect the last of the runner beans including some for seed, strip them off the poles and plant some winter onions. I'm going to let one bed go next year and keep just the one.
I drove the 'pretty' way, though Glencruitten and Glen Lonan, taking endless photographs. Frost was lying in the shady places - the first I've seen this year. I spent a couple of hours at the veggies before leaving via the farm track to see if my friend Sam was home. He was, and made me a cup of coffee and we chatted for a while before two ladies turned up, friends of his, and though I said I would go, we chatted for even longer! I finally got away, and stopped just beyond his cottage where a row of young beech trees make a variety of framing options for Ben Cruachan. Some dark clouds had gathered over the hills and I took many pictures, but settled for this one.
I stopped several times to take photographs on the way back to Oban and once there went up Pulpit Hill where the views were beautiful, but the sun had gone round a bit too far leaving the town and hills behind in shadow. A lovely afternoon!
