A walk in the park
This grassy field in Whatcom Falls Park, blanketed in colorful leaves, is just screaming "AUTUMN"! As a kid, I used to love walking through thick piles of leaves, kicking them up every which way as I plowed along. I also enjoyed raking leaves. We would rake them into the biggest, most humongous pile possible, then run and jump into the mountain of color, throwing the leaves into the air so they would rain back down on us again.
Whatcom Falls Park is now but a twenty minute walk from my front door. Richard, Lola, and I paused on the bridge, a WPA project, to take in the power and magnificence of Mother Nature. I'm looking forward to enjoying this same route in the summer time!
