Rowan Norway

This was taking place off Burntisland and is seen here as viewed this evening* from Pettycur Harbour (Kinghorn).
The jack-up rig 'Rowan Norway' has been loaded onto the semi-submersible heavy transport vessel 'Dockwise White Merlin'.
It will be taken to the Mediterranean to drill a couple of wells for 'Turkish Petroleum'.

I last photographed this rig 7 years ago in similar circumstances at the same place when it had just arrived in the UK after construction in Singapore.  https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/1425319

Actually, this is not exactly as seen. The sun was setting about 30 degrees to the right of the rig.  The magic of GIMP has allowed me to reposition it behind the rig for a more aesthetic Blip. The genuine view can be seen in today's 'extra'.
