architecture

Architects often create our environment and occasionally they succeed in challenging our eye, inspiring us and creating imaginative space. In my view they have done this in London within an area behind St Pancras and Kings Cross.
On the way back from Brussels I used the time between train connections to go and look at the development I have watched change through the carriage windows on my regular trips through St Pancras. The conversation of old gasometers into living space is genius. Gasholder Park the area around the apartments is an amazing mix of old and new. Reflective columns (main blip and 1st extra), a new shopping centre (Coal Drops Yard, 2nd extra) opening on Friday has an amazing hanging roof built on old industrial buildings. The last extra shows the modern use of the gasometer and the space for the little people to play.
I wish I had more time to explore there, it is a photographers delight.
