Sufferin' Succotash!
I was wondering what was causing the scrum as I was passing the pet shop...
Meet Sylvester! He is the last in a wild litter waiting to be rehoused by Drawda Animal Rescue, and - true to his name - was busy staring at the birds rather than the camera!
The girls from the shelter were in the shop with a variety of felines in need of homes, and seemed to be having a lot of success with the adoption forms. Very well organised - if you (or most likely your kids!) saw a pet, you filled in your details and the centre will contact you when your new friend has been vaccinated and neutered.
I'd be killed if I arrived home with another form of wildlife. It's already like "Looney Toons" around here. But if anyone is thinking of a new family member, try the rescue groups first and help solve a problem, not create one...
And interestingly, his namesake was so called after the European Wildcat (felix sylvestris)! Not a lot of people know that...
