Pair of Grebes - in harmony with each other .....

An early trip this morning, to see if the nesting grebe chicks had hatched. It looked as though the lake had risen and that maybe their nest had flooded; such a disappointment.
Although we found other delightful birds, reflections and trees to photograph, it seemed as though frustration would reign. However, we found another pair, nesting a long way from the first nest, and were elated to see one climb onto the nest. We'd never have seen it otherwise. I couldn't help but wonder if the first pair had shifted.
