Assigned to the graveyard

Today I got a new work laptop. It is the Dell at the back of picture, that's in case you don't notice the knocks on the other one :-)

It feels like quite a major thing, I have just loved my little Sony Vaio so very much. It is over three years old and I have used it to the extreme and taken it around the world. It's been great for travel and carrying around.

We're not allowed the high spec Sony Vaio anymore, in fact work will only allow us to have Dell. I've resisted for ages. But the taping up of the Vaio, the 30 odd corrupt files, the 169 instances of Firefox that sometimes open at once and general creakiness and slowness have meant I've had to give in.

The Dell is more bulky, it doesn't even have an inbuilt optical drive. I'll get used to it. It is a bit lighter.

I still used the Vaio to upload this though!
