Wind and sand and sea-foam
I woke today to a howling gale. I'm a grown-up now, so naturally I burrowed under my pillows and went back to sleep.
Eventually though, the need for coffee eventually led me out of bed and tumbling down the street for fresh supplies. A little later, the sun streamed through my window as I sat wrapped around my coffee mug (back in bed!) and eventually I put on my runners and stomped out the door in search of some exercise and the usually elusive sunshine.
I've always loved wind. Something about it makes me feel so secure, while simultaneously filling me with a sense of excitement and adventure. I know that sounds mad. But that's how it is.
My run took me to the beach where the wind was breath-snatchingly strong! Nearly lost my cap, scarf and headphones several times!! The beach was startlingly beautiful, bathed in sunshine and whipped by wind. And that old sense of excitement was soon coursing through me.
8km! My longest run in ages!
As I was running one of the songs that my iPhone selected was Colin Hay's 'Waiting for my real life to begin'. It's obnoxiously sentimental of me, but I feel this is the soundtrack to today's photo.
