The last of the Christmas and birthday gift shopping is just about done. Completed by a trip to that large out of town toy store. Every year I am stunned at the dilution of brands just for extra bucks to pass through the tills. The re-invention of great games and toys drawing quizzical looks from older buyers - like a pink Monopoly set. My particular look of gobsmackedness was reserved for a branding of Lego that I had never heard of called 'Friends'. Someone in their product development department clearly thinks that girls have no imagination. No Airfix this year either. Well not in the Lincoln branch.

Anyway, here is Ken aping Fernando Torres with a cardboard cut-out Barbie head. Looks like he's not scoring either.
