Jumping the gun

I thought there was half a chance of a reasonable sunset last night so I headed up Calton Hill to take a panoramic cityscape. Sunset was due at 5.50pm and I had topped up my car parking meter to 6.10pm. The shots I got were sort of OK but nothing like the spectacular scarlet skies we were getting about twenty minutes later by which time I had, of course, had to return to my car. Note for the future - Allow at least half an hour to three quarters of an hour after sunset to catch the most dramatic skies !
