Faking It

I'm listening to podcasts to help me get to sleep.  It works but i do often wake up and wonder where the little voice is coming from.  I'm not sure "hearing voices" is something I'm keen on adding to the QuietLittleBreakdown.

This morning I managed to half-catch the end of The Adventures Of Alfred Hitchcock.  I found it really interesting.  The bit that made laugh was a recording of Ingrid Bergmann at the ceremony when Hitchcock was awarded the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Award.  She told how Hitchcock had given her the best piece of advice she had ever been given.  They were on the set of a film and discussing some scene, Hitchcock asked to her to play the scene in a certain way and Bergmann replied "Oh, I don't think I can give you that type of emotion..." and Hitchcock replied "Ingrid, fake it".

You can watch her speech here.  Hitchcock does not look at all well in it though.

I also discovered that the theme to "Alfred Hitchcock Presents..." is a classical piece,  Gounod's Funeral March Of A Marionette.  (you'll recognise it after about 45 seconds) That might get you a point in a really tough pub quiz.

Right, back to faking it.
