Autumn glow
Backblip,
A wonderful drive and photography trip through the Autumn colours in Glen StrathFarrar and Glen Cannich.
The forecast was not great but we decided to make the trip anyway as there is just one weekend left until the road to Glen Strathfarrar is closed for the Winter.
It was rainy when we arrived at the gatehouse keepers house. One car in front of us so we waited till our numberplate number was taken and our ticket received and then started our journey. There were just three cars on the list and we came across two quickly so just one somewhere in front so it felt like we had the whole Glen to ourselves.
It was beautiful, so pretty with the Autumn colours glowing in the sun as it started to peep through the clouds.Although the water was not still as it has been when we’ve visited in the past it still made a stunning backdrop.
We saw stonechats, a buzzard and a sparrowhawk, pipits, a mistle thrush and a group of whooper swans on one of the lochs.
A few short walks to take some photos and to listen for deer, none heard but three stags ( did not see the third until I looked at the photos and saw it’s bum at the bottom of the photo ) walked majestically through the rusty bracken.
More sun appeared making our trip worth while and with winds forecast for the rest of the week I think we were lucky to still see the trees in leaf.
