An Unexpected Visitor

I'd just topped up the bird feeders in the garden and was stood in the kitchen when I spotted this woodpecker sitting on our fence.  It took me a minute to realise what it was and ran for my camera, hoping he'd still be there.  He was, but I didn't have my memory card in the camera!!  I ran to where I'd left it last night, put it in the camera and managed to get a couple of shots through the kitchen window.  He jumped onto the peanut feeder and I very gently opened the back door to try and get some better shots but he flew off.  I hope we see him again, but it's unlikely as there aren't many trees around here, although he did seem to be enjoying pecking at our fence!

He has to be my blip today and a nice early one at that, and I've added a couple of others to my extras.  I'm now off to the gym, as I still can't swim  - my shoulder has improved slightly but it's still painful if I move it a certain way.  Then I'm off to work this afternoon.
