Dark Morph Adult Red-tailed Hawk

I flushed this guy out along side the creek today. I was able to get quite close. I had one flash of him when I first flushed him and saw he was holding a squirrel in his talons. He landed on the other side of the creek from me and I was able to get this photo of him. He is definitely a "dark morph." I've never seen one around here before.

Note the red-tail spread around behind him - my guess is to hid the prey from me.
