Light Painting
At 1:23 am our backyard was too dark to photograph. It was a chance to try my hand at light painting as explained in Eric Curry's book "Painting with Light".
Using a small LED light, 44 images were exposed using f8 for 8 seconds each. A wireless remote shutter release was very helpful. The 44 images were layered into Photoshop using the Lighten blend mode on each layer. This process produced an image of 2.7 Gigabytes slowing computer processing. After flattening, saving to Lightroom, and a final crop, this is the final image.
Next time smaller image sizes will be exposed with perhaps a more powerful light equipped with a snoot.
