Autumn Harvest
It all started with moving and filling the bird feeders for easier access before the snow hits. I gathered branches strewn around the yard from last night’s storm. I moved pots of plants to sink for the winter for planting next year. I pulled a few weeds and found the carrot. Several carrots. Nowhere near the veg garden where I planted no carrots. Hmmm...
The carrot looked lonely so I collected some companions:
River birch bark
Leaves: euonymous, red maple, silver maple, sugar maple; sycamore, birch, white pine needles
Berries: beautyberry, winterberry, euonymus
Flowers: obedient plant, ageratum, ‘Roseanne’ geranium, Chinese forget-me-nots
Seeds and pods: redbud
And the carrot of course
Winter coats, hats, gloves required. 39 degrees F feels bitter cold.
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead. :)
