Silver and gold

The very tall silver birch in the garden has leaves that are now changing to burnished autumnal colours. It looks beautiful against the deep blue sky.

Today has heen another warm and sunny day. Unfortunately our weekend plans had to be postponed as Ian is still very poorly. Instead of sipping champagne at Brighton Marina Ian is drinking Dioralyte to help rehydration.

The NHS 101 phone service has been quite helpful and when they said a doctor would ring after 12 hours we didn't think that we would be woken at 2a.m. We didn't answer the phone so now back to square one on medical advice.

I made a very healthy soup with vegetables from the garden. But this only served to give Ian excruciating stomach pains. Oh well, so much
for the birthday weekend. Let's hope he makes some improvement tomorrow.
