Last corner of summer
Ivy is great. Just when everything else is fading away resignedly into November the Ivy is defiantly giving it everything. Abuzz, on a sunny day, with a riot of butterflies, flies, hoverflies, wasps and honeybees.
This clump at Tong Park is a particularly favoured spot: today enjoyed by this Red Admiral, a couple of Commas and a Large White.
Just the Ivy itself is beautiful: it was difficult to choose between lots of architectural macro shots of the flowers. But this non-macro wins on depth of colour and something pleasing about the tropical riot of form.
Three gadwall and a Wigeon on the dam.
