Oktoberfest - 2018
Steve and I almost missed out on this trip to Munich for our very first ever authentic Oktoberfest.
We signed up to go with a bunch of Steve's work friends earlier in the year but Steve forgot to book the time off work and then had a work trip to Boston planned.
Eventually we worked out a way to make it work although it meant Steve would be leaving me there on the Sunday, a day early but at least we got to experience Oktoberfest. It was wild.
I couldn't get over the volume of people and beer that was being drunk. Luckily we had a table booked (there was about 14 of us) and we had some beer (lots) and food. The whole site was surrounded like a fairground and in the afternoon Steve and I went on the rides and wandered around, had some candy floss, more beer and then about 10pm I was done.
One of Steve's colleagues though was not and tried to drag us onto a ride that just looked like the most evil thing on the planet - I ducked out and watched them amusingly from the bottom and a place of safety.
Grateful for the opportunity to experience this at least once. The site and experience was great, the beer was tasty, the food was good and the outfits were awesome.
Highly recommend this to anyone - in fact thinking about whether we can try it again next year!
