People at work

Eating Muscat grapes with walnuts

I imagine will become memory of our drive across the Pyrenees in recent days. As soon as we arrive into France John looks out for M grapes, (I can’t think we have seen them in the UK), and buy them whenever available at markets or supermarkets. The walnuts are from his collection in recent weeks, they are a good size and taste excellent

The views have been spectacular, to travel many of the famous mountain roads from years of watching the Tour de France is awesome, sometimes sad, many times stunned at what men and women can achieve. And to see people working in the mountains brought home the need of whats involved behind the scenes to keep the ski slopes safe. A number of helicopters entertained us for some time with their constant journeying between picking up and dropping off goods. We cooked a late breakfast watching others at work, a messy affair (breakfast that is with spitting bacon etc) followed by the usual coffee in the little cups bought in Italy all those months ago.

We have four days between housesits and have enjoyed the time of slow wanderings and now looking forward to meeting six cats and a ginger kitten.
