The Norwegian Championship
I've had a great day in Norway. I woke up early, had breakfast and then went for a little walk to make sure I knew where to find the train that should take me to the airport later. I found it easily, so went back to the hotel and packed all of my stuff.
I went to the hall rather early as I wanted time to talk to my Norwegian friends before the judging started. I also needed time to find the show office to sort my travel arrangements etc.
Everything went smoothly. It has been such a pleasant experience to judge for the Norwegian Kennel Club. They have all made me feel so welcome.
The Norwegian Championship was great! Super talented dogs and handlers. It was a fabulous competition. I did not find my judging hard - I loved the winning routines and was very happy with the decisions I made.
Huge congratulation to Anniken Jensen on winning the Freestyle Championship and to Annette Eggen on winning the Heelwork To Music Championship!
In the break between HTM and Freestyle, the audience was entertained by some demonstration rounds. This is a picture of one of the most popular teams - Jessica Karlgrean with her little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Sussi. They were performing live on Norway's Got Talent just 2 days ago! Unfortunately they were voted out, but the audience still loved them.
I had lunch with the 2 other judges and the organizers before saying goodbye and starting my journey home. I am now in the airport. Departure in 1½ hour.
Hero has been to a breed show with my friend Helle today. Helle sent a text saying that he looked and behaved beautifully in the ring, but unfortunately the judge didn't place him. I bet he had fun anyway :)
Looking forward to see the Hazyland boys and Bridie later!
