The Only Good Thief

ate at mcdonald's today for the first time in forever.
managed to spend the day with Laura after a weekend of shooting.
i also took another pic of the same statue,
that reminded me of a pic Laura recently took of me.

we saw 'grindhouse'- 3 days after everybody else we know.

i was entertained.
i admit that i enjoyed 'death proof' more than 'planet terror' though.
'planet terror' just felt too 'from dusk til dawn,'
but with zombies instead of vampires.
i didnt feel like it was anything new for rodriguez.
'death proof' was definately something new for tarantino,
and judging from my somewhat limited exposure
to all of the movies he was referencing / imitating,
he did a great job
(despite the half hour long, boring, conversation in the middle).
i did however love the LOOK of 'planet terror.'
all-in-all it was a fun 'hey look what i can do digitally in post' vs 'hey look what i can do on film' experience.

ps- i still hate eli roth.
