Morteratsch glacier

We walked with friends up the valley towards the Morteratsch. It was certainly all my foot could cope with. What a beautiful day to be out, admiring the spectacular mountain scenery.
What a coincidence to meet "P." as she is known on Christophi's blip journal, a journal which I have followed with interest for several years. Christophi was there too. We chatted and they took the high road to the Boval hut whilst we took the low road to the glacier snout.
Burger and chips in Livigno was what M had promised himself for a late lunch, so that's what we had. The tracks are already laid there and the cross-country skiers have already started training.
It was a full day out, but good to get a bit further afield.
