There but not there

This is Tommy Alcester who was loaned to us for the official opening ceremony of the new Memorial Garden at our village hall.

The memorial garden has renovated an area of weeds and general dereliction behind our hall.   We decided to dedicate it to the memory of those who were lost or otherwise served in the wars in defence of our country.

The hall was originally built in 1919 at a cost of £1,700.   The garden renovation has cost around £25,000.
