Kilburn White Horse
Saturday 20th October 2018
A full day out with Mum and Aunt, with some gorgeous weather. We drove up through Thirsk to Sutton Bank and stopped at the visitors centre - see extra for view from the top. Then, for old times sake found the narrow road back down the bank to Kilburn so we could see the white horse and also visit the shop of the Mouseman. Then it was back up the narrow road of Sutton Bank and across the North York Moors via Rosedale Abbey. A wonderful road with fabulous views and very steep hill - 1 in 3!
From Rosedale Abbey we continued across the moor to Whitby, where we stopped for fish and chips, then drove up the hill to show my aunt the Abbey. Our return visit was on the main route back over the moor to Pickering, then a scenic route cross more countryside to avoid the A64 road closure.
A wonderful day, which we're going to finish with more games of cards as usual.
