Plaques for Pumps
20th October 2018:
Plaques on pumps have always presented problems.
Painting on to the glossy surface of tiles needs a lot of care and attention.
Just recently our eldest son Éamonn did the trip to Malawi in our place, while I had surgery on my throat.
He thought long and hard about a solution. He researched, tested and brought out an engraver, seen here with Christopher, our painter.
I thought it would be painstaking and slow, but as usual, a PhD in Chemistry, maybe worked a treat. He printed off the typed sheet, stuck it onto the tile with tape and it worked a treat.
It is in fact much quicker and absolute precision. The black paint is put into the groove taken out.
Another innovation is that the tile is inset into a template plastered on the pump wall.
The difference it makes is spectacular.
Well done Éamonn from all
