Cast concrete.

This office block in the centre of Manchester is undergoing refurbishment and has been stripped of its cladding to leave it flat and grey. The effect is genuinely startling and reminded me of a Rachel Whiteread sculpture so much so that I did wonder whether it actually was designed as a public artwork.
