Looking South

Autumn Tree

My favourite sight from my kitchen window at this time of year.  I'm not so sure that the handyman who looks after the flats next door would agree though.  He was sweeping up masses of leaves yesterday.  Which reminds me of what my mother wrote in my childhood autograph book.  (Do little girls have autograph books nowadays?)
"The leaves are falling from the trees,
The park is golden and brown,
But the gardener man in his dungarees
Is wearing a gloomy frown.
For directly he sweeps one load of leaves up,
The trees send another load down."
