Went down to shoot the Anti Fracking rally at Preston New Road today following the week when Cuadrilla started Fracking at the site and the 3 men jailed for peaceful protest had their sentence overturned on appeal. This is a shot of one of the three men, Simon Roscoe Blevins, a soil engineer, as he arrived at the rally. The judgement relied on a previous judgement form Lord Justice Hoffman who stated that " people who break the law to affirm their belief in the injustice of a law or government action are sometimes vindicated by history....It is the mark of a civilised community that it can accommodate protests and demonstrations of this kind". I'll second that and I take my hat off to Simon Blevins for the dignity he has shown throughout the whole process.
