Chipped China

It felt good waking up in my own bed this morning not having to think about getting 3 little Munchkins up, fed and off to school. Instead I lay in bed and read texts from Daughter Number 1 who was getting 3 Little Munchkins up, fed and off to school and laughing and laughing at my self at the fact I could stay in bed all morning if I wanted to!!!

Bless her, she managed very well!

Then I opened the box that arrived back from the Pottery Man after our day Pottery Throwing. I was really excited to see our creations but as I was starting to unwrap them individually, I realised that some of them were moving....3 out of 10 of them were  broken. I was a little bit Heartbroken especially as DN1 had only made 1 piece and it was hers that fared the worse.

Then I started to feel cross when I realised how little packaging was used, how flimsy the box was and how close to the edge of the box some of the pieces were, with only a thin layer of Bubble wrap between 2 bits that sat inside each other.

And the cheek of it was - the Pottery man asked me to put a £10 note in an envelope to cover the cost of postage and packaging. It only cost him £2.95!!!

Now, bearing in mind he charged me £450 for the day for 6 people, only 5 people went and he didn't refund 1, he charged an extra £5 per person for the pots we kept (there was no previous mention of extra charges) then £10 postage (again no mention of postage costs - he asked for it after sending the parcel), I feel a bit hard done by!!! So.... going against my normal kind, generous personality - I am actually not going to pay the £10 postage!!! But I'm still trying to devise an email that's assertive but not threatening!

Any ideas???

So here are the finished, non chipped chinas. I think they look rather pretty and an extra of the broken one - they are not! but they were!
