Pelican about to take off.

I have been away for a few days by the sea & I found this Pelican on a rocky outcrop at the beach near where we are staying. I was taking photos & slowly getting closer & closer to him & it looks like he is looking at me out of the corner of his eye deciding whether I am a threat or not & whether he should fly away or not.
