"How do you do it?"

Dear Diary,

Blue Boy is looking a bit puzzled by Rosie's ability to stuff her cheeks with seeds.  Or maybe it is an eating contest and he is checking to see if Rosie is ahead, she is.  They both got their fill I am happy to report and no feathers or fur flew.

We had our first snow yesterday, just a dusting but the first nonetheless.  It had all melted my noon despite the really cold temperatures which hovered around 40F all day.  Matt was still able to get most of the winter prep done.  John comes today to finish the garden work and start blowing the leaves away.  This time of year we are all busy, birds, squirrels and chipmunks included.  We all have to get ready for the long winter ahead.  I just hope the snow holds off for awhile yet but the shovels are ready if it doesn't.   Sigh...
