Purple Swamp Hen

Drove over to Ashby Island today and had a good poke about. Not much to see in the way of wildlife at all except on the way home I spotted these birds off to the left. I couldn't get very close as I had to walk through some long grass to get close enough just to take this but was stopped by a fence and then more long grass. Seeing as there a lot of snakes around at the moment I wasn't inclined to go any further. It is quite rare to see them - I've only ever got a glimpse of one before in undergrowth near a gully so it was interesting to see about 4 or 5 of them today. However the others were a bit further off so I didn't even try to blip them.
