Abstract Thursday
An abstraction seems a good image for a day spent shopping with my wonderful neighbor Cindy. She takes her car to San Rafael, an hour or two (depending on traffic, construction projects, etc.) down the road for service. She can reserve a ‘courtesy car’ for the time her car is being serviced. We always drive to the nearby shopping mall in Corte Madera leaving the courtesy car in the parking lot (except for the drive to the other half of the shopping mall which is in the other side of the freeway and can’t be reached any other way but by car.for the entire day.
Some day I could write quite a treatise about the car culture here, but that won’t be today. I could also write another treatise about the woman in Nordstrom who had a toddler, a stroller with triplets in it m, and an even younger baby strapped to her front. One of the triplets was screaming most of the time and the toddler was having a grand time trying in shoes and smearing her face with lipstick. We couldn’t figure out why this poor woman was spending so much time in a high end department store unless she just had to get out of the house...poor woman. She looked beyond beleaguered. None of my business of course, but why did she have another baby after triplets?
While we were gone , Oilman organized a nice barbecue of beer can chicken and barbecued corn on the cob for our neighbors who arrived just after we made our way hime through the commute traffic. I managed to throw together a nice caprese salad with the last of our tomatoes. We had a lovely evening, it all worked out beautifully and we had a nice evening.
Cindy and I weren’t able to solve the problem of replacing our chair (the one Blake favored while he was with us) which we really like but which is extremely dirty, but we did get new shoes, tights and tee shirts. And I assume her car received proper service.
My abstract is a shot of the wall of the Audi service place as we waited for them to bring Cindy's car from the service area.
