Looking Over Elizabeth Bay

Went on a fab tour of Elizabeth Bay House with the curator.
It's a gorgeous Greek Revival pile built by Alexander Macleay, with views looking straight down the harbour and a garden at one time, of 54 acres, which would be two or three suburbs now.

A miracle it's still there, really, as it was once subdivided into flats, rented by artists such as Donald Friend and Ruth Park.
There was also a proposal in the 70s to make it the Lord Mayor of Sydney's residence.
