Bye bye Landon, see you next year

Although this last shot of Landon was taken at 16.17 on 17th October the time in the UK was just after midnight, so it can count as 18th.

Smooth flight over, quicker than expected owing to a 160mph tailwind, getting us into Heathrow 50 minutes early.

Spectacular views of the lights of the city and suburbs of San Diego as we took off. Good views over Ireland, Wales and England as we came in this afternoon. The flight was not very busy, perhaps two thirds full.

The window seat next to me was unoccupied so I had the best of both worlds, easy access to the aisle and a window. Nobody to disturb and nobody to disturb me! Had about 4 hours sleep.

No checked in baggage so on tube to Victoria quickly. The Piccadilly line was slow so changed onto the District at Hammersmith only to arrive at Victoria 1 minute after the 16.25 had departed!

Not to worry, the 16.52 soon left meaning I arrived in Bearsted just after 18.00 meaning a door to door trip of 17 hours. Nice to be home but sorry to leave them all in California. I’ll not need much rocking tonight.
