Stopped for a look

to see what was happening when the road past the Museum was closed. The Museum has been closed for more than twelve months when it was found to be well below earthquake safety standards and most of the artifacts have been moved into storage.  Today the last 25 were moved using specialist air ride suspension trucks to ensure smoother transportation, some will be stored locally but due to the lack of controlled environmental storage some will be stored at Te Papa, the National Museum in Wellington and others at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.  It will be at least another two years before our Museum reopens.
