Hi -tech Quarrying !

We had booked a tour of Hanson’s Batts Combe Quarry at Cheddar as part of the Rocktober events again this year.
Visibility was limited as it was really foggy this morning.
We had to smile at this man surveying for the blasting using high- vis jackets as a flag.
There were lots of Soay sheep on the rocky slopes in the gorge and we could even see some from the quarry. I’d forgotten just how interesting Cheddar Gorge is although there are still lots of slightly tacky shops which I remember from childhood visits .
