2018 Monday — Koi Pond

This is my friend Dorothy at her house in the front yard showing us the Koi pond that she and her husband, Herman, had built a number of years ago.

When Dorothy was married to her first husband, they and their three young children lived in the neighborhood where we lived. It is the neighborhood that we moved back to a few months ago.

We are back in touch with Dorothy because her husband Herman died two weeks ago. His memorial service was last Thursday. Herman was 75. He had a heart attack last May and has been in the hospital ever since and had numerous surgeries. Everything seemed to go wrong with his body once they opened him up. After 4-long months in the hospital, he died. My heart hurts for Dorothy.

At the memorial service, she invited us to come visit her and see the Koi pond. It is a beautiful pond. The Koi were babies when they were placed in the pond and they will eat right out of our hands and are very friendly.
