Carnforth Station

Today's the day ……………………. to hug

It has been a week of doing things for the last time and saying goodbye to lovely people that I have spent time with over the years.

Today I went to Carnforth Station Heritage Centre to hand in my red sweatshirt, my name badge and my parking permit - and say farewell to John (Heritage Centre Manager) and Barbara (Volunteers' Co-ordinator) and the others.  It was very sad - because I have so enjoyed my time there as a volunteer and learnt a lot along the way.

I've no doubt that the Centre will go from strength to strength and be even more successful than it already is.  There's a lovely new exhibition on at the moment featuring the railway paintings of Alan Gunston - see extra.  They're well worth a browse if you're anywhere near...……………….
