For the Birds or for Christmas........

............Saw this Holly Tree ( Ilex aquilifilium) in a neighbouring garden. The berries are a feast for birds and poisonous to humans.
The variety names are very confusing - Golden King for instance is female and Golden Queen is male!! Lets hope the person who named them originally knew his he-s from his she-s in people!!!!
In myth, the Holly is said to protect against witches and devils and also from being struck by lightening.

Weather started very misty - the sun tried it's best but only managed a very weak glimmer for a very short time

A very late blip as Anni came over to get her hair trimmed (her previous hairdresser has ceased working) so she uses mine and stayed on for lunch. I enjoyed her visit as usual.
